Big Love and big family photos at Westhaven State Park in Westport, Washington.
I first met Lindsey a few years ago when I photographed her family when her girls were little — Since then, they’ve grown up and they’ve been through many different transitions of life. What made this session so special was that Lindsey pulled me into her life - she let her guard down & we spent the summer texting as we kept having reschedule due to rain. I was comfortable with them and I felt that they were comfortable with me and because of that, we worked together to create these images and I think their true personalities really shine through them.
I chose Westhaven State Park as their location because of its wide open space. The tall dune grass sits above the shore. There are small little pathways that loop from the dunes down through the stretches of dark, sandy shore. Its the type of location that no matter what direction you turn you will have a beautiful backdrop. It allowed me to give these wonderful clients two different looks in the their session - I was able to snuggle them up for intimate portraits the tall grass and have them running free on the coastline.
I hold this family extra close to my heart. We had so much fun that day, just the 4 of us girls.. running around laughing and playing until the sun went down. My heart couldn’t have been any more full as I made my way back home.
